Celebrate Independence Day with a sweet summertime tradition at the Hoard Historical Museum’s Annual 4th of July Ice Cream Social! This beloved community event brings neighbors, families, and friends together for an afternoon filled with delicious ice cream, live music, lawn games, and festive fun for all ages. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the museum gardens, it’s the perfect place to relax, celebrate, and enjoy the spirit of the holiday.
Last year’s Ice Cream Social was a huge success by the numbers:
~46 gallons of ice cream
~18 cans of whipped cream
~10 pounds of chopped nuts
~1.5 gallons each of caramel and chocolate sauce
…and most importantly, hundreds of smiling community members enjoying the celebration together!
Whether you stop by for a scoop of ice cream, the lively atmosphere, or time spent with family and friends, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Children can participate in games and activities, while adults unwind in the shade and enjoy live music throughout the afternoon. It’s an old-fashioned community gathering that continues to create lasting memories year after year.
More than just a fun event, the Ice Cream Social also supports the Hoard Historical Museum and its mission to serve the community through exhibits, programming, and preservation efforts. We hope you can join us on July 4 from 1–3 p.m. for free ice cream, music, games, and plenty of summer fun at one of Fort Atkinson’s favorite traditions!
