Hours of Operation

Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Admission

There is no admission charge to visit the Hoard Museum. Contributions to our Donation Box are gratefully accepted. A suggested cash donation of $5.00 per person or $10 per family helps preserve and share the history and cultural heritage of the Fort Atkinson area. Thank you!

This is a museum for people of all ages. We help families with young children and three-generation families find meaning and make memories here at the museum. This includes elementary level scavenger hunts, a Kids’ Korner area for playing and reading while parents and grandparents explore the Museum Gift Shop, a diaper changing table in the woman’s restroom, and step stools in both restrooms. Ask our volunteer for a scavenger hunt and to take your family photo with the colorful fiberglass cow in our front entryway!

Accessibility

The Hoard Museum is handicap accessible with an automatic main door, an elevator, and handicap bathrooms. There is one wheelchair available for use within the building. Please note: the adjacent 1841 Foster House is not wheelchair accessible.

Location and Parking

The Museum is located at 401 Whitewater Avenue, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, 53538. Whitewater Avenue is also U.S. Highway 12. The museum sits on the corner of Whitewater Avenue and South 4th Street East, just a few blocks south of Fort Atkinson’s business district and the Rock River.

Free parking is available in the museum’s small asphalt parking lot adjacent to the building; this includes eight regular stalls and one parking stall reserved for drivers with handicapped parking permits. There are also five free parking stalls marked on Whitewater Avenue in front of our building. Free parking is also available on these nearby side streets: South 4th Street East; Merchants Avenue; and Foster Street.
