Under the direction of the UW-Extension Jefferson County Master Gardeners, the Hoard Museum gardens are maintained throughout the year by a dedicated group of volunteers. The Museum is proud to have five gardens on its grounds:
- The Roger F. and Sandra L. Anderson Intersectional Peony Garden
- The Rain Garden
- Fence Garden
- Foster House Herb Garden
- Entry Garden
Educational Seminars
Each year, the Jefferson County Master Gardeners, many who are Hoard Museum garden volunteers, present educational programs and workshops at the Hoard Museum. The Jefferson County Master Gardeners are part of the Wisconsin Master Gardeners Association, which is a statewide organization affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Extension. Its mission is to support and provide leadership to individual master gardeners and local organizations.
The Jefferson County Master Gardener Volunteers at the Hoard Historical Museum are planning four new Garden Education Programs for 2018. These programs will focus on garden care at various times of the year.
