Mornings @ the Museum
First Friday of the Month, October – May, 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.

Bring your Pre-K children or classroom to explore the Museum! The Museum will open one hour early to allow younger kids to experience the Museum at their own pace (and volume!). Play stations, snacks, and coffee for parents and teachers will be provided.

Each month will feature a different theme with special activity that may be worked on while at the Museum as well as a story time at 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.

Amateur local historian Bonnie Geyer is presenting about the world-wide flu that affected millions of people 100 years ago. She will discuss where it started, how/why it spread, and the local impact.  Don’t miss it!

Walking Tours

See where the history of Fort Atkinson happened! Join the Museum Director, Merrilee Lee, on a walking tour of downtown Fort Atkinson. Tours will meet on the hour at 8, 9, and 10 a.m. at the Fort Atkinson Farmer’s Market on Milwaukee Avenue, across the street from the Post Office. Tours begin and end at the information table and no reservations are required. Walking tours will be on level surface and sidewalks and last approximately 45 minutes.

June 30, Tours start at 8, 9, and 10 a.m.
July 14, Tours start at 8, 9, and 10 a.m.
August 11, Tours start at 8, 9, and 10 a.m.

Bike Tour

Museum Director Merrilee Lee will lead a 1 hour Historic Bike Tour of Fort Atkinson. The event will begin at the Fort Atkinson Farmers Market (the parking lot across the street from the Post Office, 24 Milwaukee Avenue E) and roll around historically significant spaces throughout Fort Atkinson.
