Free opening reception: July 21 from 1-3pm. The public is invited to attend.
Exhibit open July 21 – September 22

This special exhibition offers a unique opportunity to build connections through historic and current residents’ portraits and stories. Attendees will learn why people have moved to Fort Atkinson  and why they stayed, from the desire to escape violence and the aftermath of war, to youthful curiosity, to the pursuit of the American Dream. Walking Tours

See where the history of Fort Atkinson happened! Join museum staff on a walking tour of downtown Fort Atkinson. Tours will meet on the hour at 8, 9, and 10 a.m. at the Fort Atkinson Farmer’s Market on Milwaukee Avenue, across the street from the Post Office. Tours begin and end at the information table and no reservations are required. Walking tours will be on level surface and sidewalks and last approximately 45 minutes. Tours are free, donations accepted.

Bike Tour

Museum Director Merrilee Lee will lead a 1 hour Historic Bike Tour of Fort Atkinson on Saturday, October 6. The event will begin at the Fort Atkinson Farmers Market (the parking lot across the street from the Post Office, 24 Milwaukee Avenue E) and roll around historically significant spaces throughout Fort Atkinson. This is a free tour, donations accepted.
